Introducing the Training Quality Standard

Whether your Organisation is Public, Private or Educational, applying for The Training Quality Standard is designed as a recognised quality mark of Excellence in the provision of training and development of solutions to Employers.

By embracing The Standard it provides a clear message to employers of commitment, innovation and a continuous striving for improvement . The Training Quality Standard' provides an assessment framework which sets out a series of criteria and indicators for assessing organisations' quality and capability. These are set out in two parts each assessing a particular competence in delivering training and development to employers:

  • Part A
    • focuses on responsiveness - how well a training provider manages its services to ensure a high quality customer experience to an employer, assessed across the entire organisation as it appears to an employer.
  • Part B
    • focuses on sector expertise - how well a training provider delivers training relevant to the requirements of employers in a particular local sector, assessed within the parts of the providers delivering the sector focus.
  • Certification
    • Certification is a real achievement, only given where there is clear evidence that the full range of capabilities and proven performance are in place. Certification is given when an organisation's moderated score exceeds 550 points (out of 1000) and we are satisfied that the organisation has demonstrated the strategy, approaches and results that can give an employer confidence it will offer them a high-quality training experience. Certification lasts for a period of three years.
  • Conditional
    • Conditional certification is a concession offered to allow organisations to achieve Part A where they have little or no evidence for the results they achieve. In these cases, where a Lead Assessor recommends it, certification can be offered where an organisation is assessed at over 385 points out of the 700 not related to results evidence.
    • If conditional certification is offered, an organisation will have to agree to submit to a further visit after 12 months to assess progress; for a Conditional Registration Form or Conditional Application Form go to the download library, if this is not sufficient, certification can be withdrawn.
